WHOLECLOTH ADVENTURES Honorable Mention Small Traditional Hand Quilted Quilts 2005 Monterey Peninsula Quilter's Guild Quilt Show California

I have long admired wholecloth quilts.  They have been created for centuries and are things of amazing beauty.  I knew I would never have the patience to quilt a full size one so I designed this miniature one instead.  I lined it with a batting of flannel to create dimension as I hand quilted the designs.  Wholecloth Adventures would fit on either a double or twin dollhouse bed.  It fits on a twin or double dollhouse bed.

AWARD WINNING QUILTS

My family and friends long admired my miniature treasures and encouraged me to enter my quilts in local fairs.  It was wonderful to see what everyone else created and rather amazing to see how my quilts were received!

LOVE UNBOUND Best of Category Miniature Quilts 2003 Kitsap County Fair Washington

Love Unbound is the second Double Irish Chain I made.  A fellow miniaturist wanted the original one and I accepted the challenge of re-creating it with even smaller blocks so I could still have one in my collection.  For this quilt I used graph paper to keep the seams straight and regulate block size.  The seams create enough bulk that there is no additional batting.  The quilt was machine pieced and hand quilted in the ditch with hearts in the white blocks.  This quilt fits on a dollhouse double bed.

SAWTOOTH FANTASY First Place Miniature Quilts 2004 Monterey County Fair California

Sawtooth Fantasy was inspired by an antique 1850's Sawtooth Medallion quilt from South Central Pennsylvania.  Sawtooth Medallion quilts were very popular in that region during the mid 1800s.  Blue and white quilts have been traditional favorites for generations.  After drafting the quilt I machine pieced it and hand quilted it.  It fits on a double size dollhouse bed.

Approximate Size 8 3/4  x 8 3/4

RED AND WHITE PINWHEELS Second Place Miniature Quilts 2004 Monterey County Fair California

This quilt has been machine pieced in a traditional pinwheel pattern.  Pinwheel quilts have been popular for generations and would be at home in most eras.  The red and white colors are traditional favorites.  This twin sized dollhouse quilt has been hand quilted in the pinwheels with circles in the white blocks.

Approximate Size 5 1/2 x 7 1/2

BLUE WHOLECLOTH First Place Miniature Quilts 2006 Calvert County Fair

I greatly enjoyed designing and quilting this lovely miniature.  Nelona Batiste was dyed blue and the quilt was batted with a thin layer of silk batting to allow the quilting pattern to really show through.  It has been patterned to fit on a four poster dollhouse bed.

Approximate Size 7 x 7 1/2
